Blimey, I needed this fast day. I consumed about a week’s worth of calories on Monday thanks to my overwhelming tendency to reach for the comfort food when I’m feeling down. And it DID make me feel better – for a few hours. After that, my body started to tell me in no uncertain terms how it felt about being stuffed so full of food and booze. So, it was a relief on Tuesday to be fasting again and today has been a spontaneous semi-fast too – it’s 4.45pm and all I’ve had is a mini muffin and two cups of coffee. I’m sure I’ll make up for it later!

Weigh-in Wednesday
Call me a coward but I didn’t dare step on the scales this morning. What with one dinner out, one takeaway and one day of eating everything in sight in a vain attempt to cheer myself up, I’m taking a wild guess that I won’t have lost anything this week. Seeing the evidence of all my overindulgence on the scales would just hurl me deeper into the pit of despair, so I’m doing myself a favour and giving the weigh-in a miss this week. I promise I’ll do it next week and be honest whatever the result!
How often do you weigh yourself? Once a week or more/less often? Have you ever had a gain on 5:2? Let me know!

First week this week and lost 1lb which was surprising considering my weekend! And always weigh once a week – same time same place!!

Yay you! Good work on your 1lb, despite your blowout weekend! Always a good idea to weigh same time, same day, same place – my scales get lined up on the same tile on the bathroom floor every time. Good luck for your second week – keep me posted!
You seem to eat a lot more than I do for the same number of calories…I think I need to look at what I’m eating & try to get the best “value” for my calories. I love the sound of what you’re making and will certainly be back to borrow some of your ideas. Tomorrow I’m looking forward to my Moroccan style potato bake at 7.00 ! (not necessarily looking forward to the 12 hour fast before it though!)
Ooh, Moroccan potato bake sounds delicious. I love Moroccan flavours (apart from fresh coriander, which is the Devil’s food!). I think the key to getting the most bang for your buck calorie-wise is using lean protein, bulking out with lots of fresh veg/salad, and keeping the carbs and dairy to a minimum. Glad you like my meal plans – I’ll keep adding more. Good luck and enjoy your dinner tonight!
